Time Flies When You're Having Fun!

Joe and I were talking about our kiddos this morning and I realized in a couple days Henry will already be 5 months old. Where did the time go! It's amazing how much your children change in a short amount of time. At five months, Henry is now almost 18 pounds, rolling over, and smiling and giggling at just about everything. Oh and best of all - he's sleeping through the night!

I was looking for a picture of Oliver at six months to show a friend so she could see what his hair situation was, to give her an idea of when baby hair starts to grow back, and I laughed nostalgiclly at how much Oliver has grown physically and what's he's learned in two years of life. I've posted a few pictures of him as a baby to jog your memories of him. He was and is so darn cute and sweet. Although now he is trying to develop his own identity and sense of independence, he's still that cuddly little man in these pictures.

Now that I am back to work, the days fly by. But it makes the time I have to spend with my family so much more precious and meaningful. My daily devotional this morning was about living a "zesty life" and the verse was Psalms 34:8 - "Open your mouth and taste, open your eyes and see - how good God is. Blessed are you who run to him." The devotional went on to encourage its readers to look for the beauty in everyday life - in the color of flowers, in the rain clouds, in a kiss or hug given. I couldn't help but think about my dear husband and my wonderful kids. Every hug and kiss, every moment spent with them is a show of God's love and beauty in my life. If a husband who think he's hysterical (and although I hate to admit it, really is), a spunky two and a half year old, and a lovely little 4 and half month old baby don't give one's life some zest, I don't know what does.
